vista 64 way too slow

vista 64 way too slow!

hey, windows vista beta 2 64-bit is way too slow! it seems to do alright for a while, but as soon as you have more than one window open, it really starts dragging! this especially is true when you are trying to switch users. it hangs for probably 2 minutes.
also,
there are problems with itunes 6.0.4, which the wikipedia compatibility list said was fully compatible. it becomes flaky, and sometimes will not allow you to eject your ipod, and sometimes won't even see your ipod when reinserted.
just some helpful suggestions!! i had to go back to XP!

Probably a video driver issue. Without details of your config its hard to say. On a lot of people's systems where they've got drivers x64 is noticeably faster than 32-bit.

iTunes nuff said. 8-) Might want to edit Wikipedia, it may only effect x64.

I changed my desktop theme to Classic and it's a lot faster.
Aero seems to be too much for my Nvidia FX5200 128MB

Exactly. I have just such a system where it is Vista x86 that is sluggish and warns of performance problems but the x64 edition flies. This also came up in a chat session with the shell team. The driver is probably the issue. It is certainly not Vista itself.

Wikipedia is not an authoritative source. It is a community source. I would not rely on it's accuracy in every case.
Why did you go back to XP? You were doing great beta testing by finding problems. After all, that is what this is all about, isn't it?
